Arne Jacobsen design event at Nordic Living by Biehl Edinburgh showroom

AJ Event at Nordic Living

We had the pleasure of hosting an event in conjunction with Fritz Hansen and Louis Poulsen last night in our Edinburgh showroom. The evening was dedicated to the remarkable work of iconic architect and designer Arne Jacobsen.

Arne Jacobsen was born 1902 and raised in Copenhagen. In 1927 he graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduating, he obtained his first job at the office of the City Architect of Copenhagen and founded his own office only two years later.

Arne Jacobsen is a world famous Danish modernistic architect. His buildings are numerous in Denmark, Germany and the UK. Among his more famous projects are the National Bank in Copenhagen (1971), SAS Royal Hotel & Terminal Copenhagen (1960) and St. Catherine’s College in Oxford, UK (1963).

After an insightful and successful AJ event we invite all of you to explore Jacobsen’s enduring influence on modern design with us. Explore iconic pieces of furniture like the Egg™, Swan™, Series 7™ and Drop™ chairs and beautiful lights like the AJ Floor, Table, Wall Lamps and AJ Oxford Table Lamp, among many other inspiring pieces.

Thank you to everyone that joined us last night in celebrating Arne Jacobsen’s design legacy. Special thank you to Fritz Hansen and Louis Poulsen for organising the event alongside our team, and to our inspiring guest speakers Magnus Englund and Leyla Daybelge.

Mange tak, from all of us at Nordic.
